Take it to the

Next Level

Whether you’re looking to start a new career or to deepen your knowledge and pilates practice, our instructor training program offers valuable knowledge that will enrich your understanding of the human body and prepare you for a successful career.

The Pilates O Ka Lā Instructor Certification Program is designed for those wanting to become Pilates Instructors, but also students who are simply interested in deepening their Pilates practice. The program is broken down into 2 sections: Mat and Equipment.

In order to become an instructor you must complete both programs. We hold each program once per year - the Mat program is in the early spring, and the Equipment begins in the summer. The program consists of workshops, anatomy classes, and open studio sessions that are scheduled weekly. In addition, you will be required to complete hours of observation, practice, and teaching, scheduled during your own free time.

The Mat program should take approximately 6 months to complete, the Equipment program generally takes a year to complete in full for those who are also working full time (for those able to commit more time per week the entire program can be completed much quicker). Pilates instructors are in high-demand - especially in Hawaii - and you will have no problem finding eager clients and building your dream career with the skills you will develop during this program.

Instructor & Studio Owner Chelsea Peck has over 15 years of training in both classical and contemporary Pilates, body mechanics, Yoga, and personal training. Her expertise will give you a well rounded education to be prepared with the challenges presented with a wide range of clients and bodies. After this program you will be certified to teach both group classes and individual sessions at any fitness facility or on your own.

The program is based on the Classical Pilates Method but also incorporates contemporary styles which we feel is of great importance to prepare you for any teaching environment.

 Mat Instructor Certification

The Pilates O Ka La Mat Certification Program provides a solid foundation in classical Pilates mat work and prepares you to safely and successfully instruct individual clients and group Pilates mat classes. Our classical Mat Certification is a progressive and systematic three part series that allows you to complete each level of the program at your own pace. You must, however, complete the levels in order from Beginner, Intermediate and then Advanced.
